The further upscaling in agriculture - large-scale farms and intensification - leaves deep scars; this on top of the dramatic changes to infrastructure. Meadow birds are rapidly disappearing, as is the diversity of flowers and plants. Farm cowsheds have been expanded by a factor of 3 or 4 and are even more disfiguring to the Frisian landscape than wind turbines and roads.
